Daily One Inch Button #223 - Vampire Bear and Shrimpy Lunchee

This one time, Vampire Bear and Shrimpy went out to a restaurant, and they got themselves a fine meal. Apparently the papparazi must have been there because recently, this image of them dining together was discovered. I guess they won't mind being on a button like this since they were okay with their being on buttons for the Learn How to Read Hebrew with Vampire Bear button series.

Shrimpy looks awfully adorable as he goes for a drink there. You don't see such good friendship like this every day.

Daily One Inch Button - Vampire Bear Tzzzz

Tzzz! Tzzz! Tzz! The clashing clanging sound rings forth from the cymbals as Vampire Bear plays music with his friends. He is also pleased that the sound reminds him of one of his favorite letters in the course of teaching how to read the Hebrew Aleph Bet, which makes this most profoundly lovely sound. You can't have the word tzadik and tzedakah without this letter, after all. There are many other words that you can't have without the letter but you'll just have to go over to his lesson (when it goes up - maybe you should fire your producer, VB!) and see for yourself!

Daily One Inch Button - Vampire Bear Farm

Here at last you can see an overview of the farm where Vampire Bear, Shrimpy, and Goobie Bear live at least a few months during the year.

Looking over the farm, Vampire Bear is inclined to think of the Hebrew letter Feh in its final form - as in, the form of the letter that you only find when the letter is at the end of a word.

If you look carefully, you will see that the farm has a nice face layout to it. How cunning of the architect that designed it for VB!

Daily One Inch Button - Vampire Bear Puddle

It was a rainy day. As such, our darling little Vampire Bear was just casually walking home from the grocery store - no need to emit that C02, right? He thought he'd take a little short-cut home and look at what he found. It's a giant puddle right in the middle of the dirt road. What is he to do? The good news is that when he saw the puddle, he immediately thought of the Hebrew letter Peh - or Pay depending on how you want to transliterate it.

That's funny, because Vampire Bear has an excellent lesson on the letter Peh in his series, Learn to Read Hebrew with Vampire Bear.

Timbeeeeeear! Vampire Bear cuts down only in an environmentally friendly manner, of course. He does need wood once in awhile for various farming needs, and what better way to get it than from your own sustainable growth selection?

Vampire bear loves a good laugh - especially when he has just taught three letters in the Hebrew aleph bet in one lesson! Sour milk is nothing like sour kisses. No, for while both are undesirable, only sour milk has a terrible smell. Though you don't really see too many zebras on a typical farm, our dear little friend Vampire Bear managed to get a few because he just loves the way they look. He also is fond of the fact that he can use the first letter of their name to help teach a letter in the hebrew language - that is, the letter called Zion. Vampire Bear enjoys a good work of art as much as the next bear, but this one in particular holds a special place in his heart. Why is that? Well, it could be related to the fact that he is a fan of Van Gogh in general. On the other hand it could be that it reminds him of a certain letter in the Hebrew alphabet that has a nice soft F sound. It could be a combination of the two. That's right, it's this beautiful letter that he is teaching this week over at Learn to Read Hebrew with Vampire Bear.

Sunflowers were a great choice for Van Gogh, weren't they? So full of light and cheer.

Keeping up with the news, are we? Our dear friend Vampire Bear loves to read the daily Hamodia with all of its tidbits about what is new in the world, the humorous photo section (not to be confused with the more serious photo section with various rabbis at diverse events) along with a great weekly magazine complete with new recipes to try out. This last year was particularly interesting as VB didn't really know that much about the Shemittah year and now he knows quite a lot thanks to the newspaper.

Newspaper has an 'n' sound and that reminds him of the letter 'nun', and I'm not referring to the people who dress in habits. You can learn all about the different letters of the Hebrew aleph bet, or at least how to read them, at Learn to Read Hebrew with Vampire Bear.

Daily One Inch Button - Vav Vase

This week we are learning all about the fantastic letter called the Vav and what better way to remember the vav than to see this darling image of Vampire Bear watering a flower in a vase? True, the image would have also worked well with the actual letter called vase but I think I like how the vase looks like the vav in that it's sort of a long straight linear object. 

You have to respect Vampire Bear's approach to teaching how to read the Hebrew language. I know that I do. It's so great how he is helping to teach Goobie Bear and Shrimpy about the Hebrew language. Aren't you excited?

Ah, hot soup! Hot soup is great on a cold day but apparently it can also be quite good on a hot day as well. This is because it warms you on the inside and so the outside heat affects you just a little bit less. I have been told that this is why it is actually better to drink cold drinks on a cold day rather than hot drinks. Either way, Vampire Bear is using the soup to teach about yet another letter in the Hebrew aleph bet in his internationally acclaimed series, Learn to Read Hebrew with Vampire Bear. It looks like it's time for a tea party, or maybe Vampire Bear is just having his two dear friends Goobie Bear and Shrimpy over for tea. A cow says "moo" and our dear friend Vampire Bear appreciates that. It's that "ooo" sound that he is focused on in this week's lesson of Learn To Read Hebrew with Vampire Bear. You don't see too many animals on the farm that naturally make that sound so Vampire Bear was pleased as punch that this milk giving animal inspired him to be able to teach the vowel that makes the ooo sound. If only he could inspire Shrimpy to stop running away every time he hears the cows - they scare him, apparently.

Grapes are one of the seven species of fruit that are special to the Land of Israel - did you know that? I think that our darling little dear Vampire Bear knew that, which is why he chose it to help him teach all about the letter Gimmel in his ongoing series, Learn To Read Hebrew with Vampire Bear. Check it out - if you look at the printable download, all three of the bears are eating the grapes at the same time. I wonder how many grapes Shrimpy will be able to eat before he is just about full? I'm not sure how comfortable I am seeing Vampire Bear in action with a real lasso like that. What is the object of this lassoing? Does he plan on reeling in a nice big can of baked beans? On the plus side, he got to use the lasso to teach all about the Hebrew letter Lamed (along with a quiet little helper vowel) in a new lesson from Learn to Read Hebrew with Vampire Bear. The lessons are really coming along nicely, did you know? It's never too late to learn how to read Hebrew, if that's what you want to do. (One of the greatest rabbis ever, Rebbi Akiva, learned how to read the language after he turned 40. If he can do it, so can you!)

Daily One Inch Button - Vampire Bear Rays of Sun

Vampire Bear is squinting because of the sun; the rays coming down are a bit harsh, so to speak. It gave him a great opportunity to teach about a letter and a vowel in this week's edition of Learn to Read Hebrew with Vampire Bear. Those were the reish and the solid a vowel which of course has a name that I cannot remember. What a good bear he is, trying to teach people how to read Hebrew that want to know how to do it.
